Josh Candleman is a small-town mortician who is more comfortable speaking with his dead clients than he is talking with the living.

Lucky for Josh, they talk back.

In an effort to find relaxing and engaging conversation, Josh begins killing people with whom he’d like to talk.

But the conversation is never that good, and the dead tell him things he doesn’t want to hear, like that the whole town suspected him of murder all along.

Josh is torn as he tries to reconcile his need for inner peace with his need to not be caught for his crimes, as his guilt gnaws away at him.
